Latest Update about John



John Won -  Gold at the Oceanias - and is now in serious training for the Commonwealth Games.

To all from Dave Hassan and John Squillace

Recently Johnny and myself along with four other boxers

( Jarrod Woods , Callum Cassidy , Mark Pevinsky , Brendon Scally )

 also their coaches ( Peter Scott , Richard Davis , Gary Percy , Earl Wiltshire ) all attended the Commonwealth selections in Canberra at the Australian Institute Of Sport. This was the 2nd part of the selection trials for the Commonwealth games. We would like to congratulate all the boxers and their coaches on such a strong performance from the West Australian team . Unfortunately 4 of our boxers did not qualify but all fought well and some were unlucky. Callum Cassidy only lost by 1 point but the fact is that all these boxers made it to the highest level in Australian boxing, congratulation to the boxers and coaches.



In the last couple of years myself and Johnny have been lucky enough to travel and see boxing in every part of Australia. If there is one thing that we have noticed is the way we put on fight nights, turn out boxers and unite as a team when we travel. We are second to nobody in boxing Australia. We feel very honored to be representing West Australia at the Commonwealth games in New Dehli India in October later this year.



So I guess what were trying to say is thankyou for the help and lets us become the dominate state and the state everyone else wants to be.
